Through a combination of two-dimensional works, sculptural forms, and immersive wall installations, I create pieces that encourage viewers to look closer and linger with a sense of intrigue. My source material often stems from archiving found medical imagery, botched plastic surgery, bodily deformities, infections, and the surreal aesthetic of 1980s B-horror films. While such imagery is often dismissed as grotesque, I am captivated by its unexpected beauty—the strange color palettes, visceral textures, and the way these images evoke the uncanny valley: familiar yet unsettling.
My process is largely intuitive. I instinctively select colors, forms, and textures, while also inventing self-imposed rules and systems that guide each piece’s evolution. Over time, initial references dissolve, shifting into layered abstractions where no recognizable forms remain. What emerges are ambiguous, multi-dimensional images that reflect the fragility and instability of our seemingly certain reality.
I am drawn to creating works that both seduce and repel—pieces that straddle the line between attraction and discomfort, beauty and distortion. Within this tension, I invite viewers to encounter their own interpretations, discovering meaning in the balance between what is seen and what is felt.
